Ex Chiesa Sant'Antonio da Padova

La chiesa di S. Antonio di Padova si ergeva dove oggi è la Piazza Regina Margherita.

Essa esisteva già ai primi del 1600, prima ancora che fosse costruita la Chiesa Madre. Verso la fine degli anni Sessanta, nonostante la sua bellezza, venne demolita per dar posto all'attuale piazza.

Il Santo ebbe una nuova chiesa, non artistica come la prima ma tuttavia comoda e più accessibile agli abitanti del paese, e sorge all'entrata del paese dalla parte di Acicastello, verso il mare, sulla piazzetta che porta il nome del Santo S. Antonio di Padova, e che gode di un bel panorama sul mare dell'Ionio.

The church of St. Antonio di Padova stood where today is the Piazza Regina Margherita.

It already existed in the early 1600s, even before it was built the Mother Church. Towards the end of the sixties, despite its beauty, was demolished to make way for the current square.

The Saint had a new church, not artistic as the first but still comfortable and more accessible to the inhabitants of the country, and is situated at the entrance of the village on the side of Acicastello, towards the sea, on the square that has the name of the Holy St. Antonio di Padova, and enjoying a beautiful view of the Ionio sea.
